Beta hCG — Pregnancy viability

Please attend the clinic during opening hours to purchace a home test kit.

Please call the clinic in advance to check stock availability.

During the very first weeks of a viable pregnancy, hCG levels increase exponentially, doubling every 48 hours. Blood tests 48 hours apart may therefore be useful to monitor the progression of your pregnancy and assess its development.

Checking the beta hCG level regularly during the initial stages of pregnancy is a common practice, particularly if you had assisted conception, if you suffered previous miscarriages or if you are experiencing unfavorable symptoms.

Falling hCG levels may suggest a pregnancy loss (miscarriage).

Low levels of hCG or levels that are rising more slowly than expected may be symptomatic of a higher risk of miscarriage or an ectopic pregnancy.

While hCG levels or trends help identify potential issues that may require further investigations, they do not conclusively diagnose any condition.

Who may benefit from this test
  • Mums who would like to assess the progress of the pregnancy in the very early stages
  • Mums who may have had an inconclusive early pregnancy scan for further correlation to share with their doctor

Wellbeing Scan

This scan evaluates your baby’s well-being, including activity, growth, amniotic fluid levels, placenta condition, and estimated fetal weight.

Wellbeing Gender Scan

Excited to learn your baby’s gender? Choose between an in-appointment reveal with pink or blue lighting or a surprise reveal later with a card or cannon. The scan first checks your baby’s well-being and growth.

Wellbeing 4D Premium Baby Scan

This scan provides your first 4D images of your baby, assesses well-being, and includes measurements of growth, amniotic fluid, placenta, and fetal weight. Extra time allows for bonding and seeing your baby’s face, yawns, or thumb-sucking.

Wellbeing 4D Baby Scan

This scan assesses your baby’s well-being and provides your first 4D images, capturing moments like yawns or thumb-sucking. It includes measurements of growth, amniotic fluid, placenta condition, and fetal weight.

SneakPeek Clinical Early Fetal Sex DNA Test

SneakPeek is a blood test that can confirm your baby’s sex from 6 weeks’ gestation by analyzing fetal DNA for the male Y chromosome. We recommend a dating scan before the test to ensure pregnancy viability and correct gestation, as well as to check for multiple pregnancies.

Progesterone Test

Progesterone supports egg implantation and embryo development. Low levels may indicate pregnancy issues. Monitoring progesterone helps assess pregnancy progress.

Presentation Scan

From 35 weeks, this scan checks your baby’s position and the placenta’s placement. Most babies turn head-down, but some may shift until 36 weeks. Knowing the position helps plan for delivery.

Post Miscarriage Scan

We’re deeply sorry for your loss. This scan checks that your womb and reproductive system have returned to their pre-pregnancy state. It’s suitable 6-8 weeks after a miscarriage or after 1-2 normal periods, ideally within the first 10 days of your cycle.

NIPT— Panorama with microdeletions

Panorama™, a leading NIPT, uses a simple blood draw to assess your baby’s risk for chromosomal conditions and determine sex. It screens for common trisomies, triploidy, and 5 microdeletions. This package includes an early pregnancy scan.

Group B Strep Test

Group B Strep (GBS) is a common bacterium that usually causes no harm but can lead to serious infections in newborns. Testing for GBS, which involves a swab test using a home kit, is not routinely offered in the UK but can reduce infection risk if done within 5 weeks of delivery.

Gift Vouchers

Gifting a Baby Scan offers a memorable experience to cherish forever. Purchase e-gift vouchers online, valid for 12 months, with customizable values. For a printed voucher in a gift box (£5), please contact the clinic.

Early Pregnancy Scan

An ultrasound can detect early pregnancy from 6 weeks after LMP. A sonographer confirms pregnancy, checks progress, and detects heartbeats.

Blood Group & Rhesus Factor

A venous blood test determines your blood group and Rh status, crucial for blood compatibility in pregnancy and transfusions.

Beta hCG — Pregnancy confirmation

After conception, the placenta produces the hormone hCG, which is detectable in urine and blood. A blood test can confirm pregnancy as early as 6-10 days post-fertilization.
