Tracking your ovulation cycle? Here's what you need to know.
Start from day 5 to 8 of your cycle (day 1 = first day of period). For shorter cycles, start earlier; for longer cycles, start later. We’ll advise based on your cycle length when you book.
For IUI, yes—it’s essential to time insemination correctly. For IVF, your clinic will require monitoring follicles as part of your treatment cycle.
No—follicle tracking is more precise. Ovulation tests detect the LH hormone surge (which happens before ovulation), but they don’t confirm follicle maturity or actual ovulation. Ultrasound directly visualizes follicle size and growth.
Yes. By identifying your exact ovulation timing, you can time intercourse for maximum conception chances. It’s especially helpful if you have irregular cycles or aren’t sure when you ovulate.
Mature follicles are usually 18-24mm. Once a follicle reaches this size, ovulation typically occurs within 24-48 hours. We’ll advise when to time intercourse or trigger ovulation medication.
Typically 3 scans over 7-10 days. The first scan checks baseline, subsequent scans track growth until follicles are mature. Timing between scans depends on follicle size and growth rate.
Real experiences from those who trust our care.
The staff are great and the service is impeccable. Lauren the sonographer is empathetic, personable and so kind which made our 8 week scan a wonderful experience

I’ve visited Flowan a few times over the last few years for various reasons and every time the service and care is outstanding. There are clinics much closer to me I could opt for but travel out of my way to Flowan simply for the service.

Felt safe and comfortable at this clinic! Very good service, would recommend!!

We came for an early pregnancy scan. Such lovely, professional staff at the clinic. Explained everything super clearly and were so friendly! Would really recommend.

The team are so friendly and helpful, really excellent service. We asked not to see the gender of the baby but for it to be part of the surprise package and we couldn’t be happier!! Such a lovely experience seeing our baby
